Privacy Policy

Uvio, a product of Verge Technologies Pty Ltd. Last updated 14 October 2026.

This policy explains how the Uvio app ("Uvio", "the app") handles information. Uvio is provided by Verge Technologies Pty Ltd ("Verge", "we", "us"), an Australian company. We handle personal information in line with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles.

1. The short version

2. Camera, microphone and USB access

Uvio asks for permission to use the camera, the microphone and USB devices. It uses them so that a USB camera, and its microphone if it has one, can be used in a video call that you open inside the app. The picture is processed on your phone and handed to the call website you are using. Verge does not receive, record or store your video or audio.

The call website you join (for example Vision, Coviu, Microsoft Teams or Zoom) receives the video and audio and handles it under its own terms and privacy policy.

3. Information stored on your phone

None of this is sent to Verge.

4. Information we collect

The app does not send personal information to Verge. We receive information only if you contact us, for example by emailing support@uvio.au. In that case we receive your email address and whatever you tell us. If you choose to copy and send us a Diagnostics report to help with a problem, it includes technical details such as your phone model, Android version and camera details. It does not include your video, audio or meeting links. We use this information only to help you.

5. Subscriptions and payments

Subscriptions are bought through Google Play. Google processes the payment and holds your payment details under the Google Play terms and the Google Privacy Policy. The app asks Google Play whether your Google account has an active Uvio subscription. We do not receive your name, card number or other payment details. If you redeem a promotional code through Google Play, Google handles that redemption.

6. Sharing

We do not sell your information or share it for advertising. We may disclose information only if the law requires it. Because the app does not collect personal information, there is generally nothing for us to disclose.

7. Healthcare and other sensitive use

Uvio is often used for remote consultations. Uvio does not store patient or client information. If you use it in a clinical or other professional setting, you remain responsible for obtaining any consent needed and for meeting your own privacy, health records and confidentiality obligations, including those that apply to the call service you use.

8. Security

Information stays in the app's private storage on your phone, protected by Android. The app blocks web pages from loading insecure content inside secure pages. Please keep your phone locked and updated.

9. Keeping and deleting information

Uninstalling Uvio removes everything it stores on your phone. You can also clear its storage in Android Settings. We keep emails you send us for as long as needed to help you and to meet legal obligations.

10. Children

Uvio is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect information from them.

11. Access, correction and complaints

You can ask us what personal information we hold about you, and ask us to correct or delete it, by emailing support@uvio.au. If you are not satisfied with how we handle a privacy concern, you can complain to us first, and then to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au.

12. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the app changes. The date at the top shows when it was last updated. The current version is always available in the app under Settings, Privacy policy.
