Terms and Conditions

Uvio, a product of Verge Technologies Pty Ltd. Last updated 14 October 2026.

These terms are an agreement between you and Verge Technologies Pty Ltd ("Verge", "we", "us") about your use of the Uvio app ("Uvio", "the app"). By installing or using the app you accept these terms. If you do not accept them, please do not use the app.

1. What Uvio does

Uvio opens a browser-based video call inside the app and supplies the picture from a USB (UVC) camera to that call. It works with the call websites you choose. Uvio is not itself a video calling service.

2. Licence

We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to install and use the app on your devices for your own personal or business use, subject to these terms.

3. Free and paid plans

4. Billing, renewal, cancellation and refunds

5. Licence codes and promotional codes

6. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

7. Clinical and professional use

Uvio is a general-purpose camera tool. It is not a medical device and does not give medical or clinical advice. Picture and sound quality depend on your camera, phone, network and the call service, and we do not guarantee that a call will connect, stay connected or show a particular picture quality.

If you use Uvio in healthcare or any other professional setting, you are responsible for deciding whether it is suitable for that use, for having an alternative way to proceed if it fails, and for meeting all legal, professional and privacy obligations, including patient or client consent.

8. Cameras, phones and third-party services

We cannot guarantee that every USB camera, phone or call service will work with the app. Some services, including some versions of Microsoft Teams, Zoom and Google Meet, may not offer a browser version on mobile phones or may block embedded browsers. Names such as Android, Google Play, Microsoft Teams, Zoom, Coviu and Vision belong to their owners. Uvio is not affiliated with or endorsed by them. Your use of those services is under their own terms.

9. Beta versions

Some versions of the app are released for testing. They may contain faults, change without notice, or stop working. Please use them with that in mind.

10. Intellectual property and open-source software

Verge owns the app, the Uvio name and logo, and all related intellectual property, other than third-party components. The app includes open-source software, including the UVCAndroid library (Apache License 2.0) and the Figtree typeface (SIL Open Font Licence 1.1), which are used under their own licences.

11. Our responsibility

Nothing in these terms excludes, restricts or modifies any consumer guarantee, right or remedy you have under the Australian Consumer Law or other law that cannot be excluded.

Subject to that, and to the extent the law allows: the app is provided "as is"; we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, loss of profit, loss of data or loss arising from a failed or poor-quality call; and where a non-excludable guarantee applies and we are permitted to limit our liability, our liability is limited to resupplying the app or paying the cost of having it resupplied.

12. Suspension and ending

You can stop using the app at any time by uninstalling it. We may suspend or end your access if you break these terms. Sections that by their nature should continue to apply after that will continue to apply.

13. Changes

We may change the app, its features, the free and paid plans, and these terms. We will post the updated terms in the app, and the date at the top will change. If you keep using the app after an update, you accept the updated terms. If a change is significant, we will take reasonable steps to tell you.

14. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of New South Wales, Australia. You and we submit to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of New South Wales and the Commonwealth of Australia.
